Major announcement, kinda

Hi, I'm back, finally. After an extended period of feeling disillusioned, having loads of work, a lot of assignments and, more recently, the shorter, cooler days of a Melbourne winter that apparently turn me into a hibernating bear, I have a couple of things to announce.

First and most importantly, next Friday 15th August 2025 my second release, Beacon, will be out on all major streaming platforms and online stores for purchasing. Well, all but Beatport, as it's rather pointless. I'm not going to use one of those pre-save pages either as they're just another unnecessary data collector and password for you to remember, so please remember to like, subscribe, follow, save, bookmark something from my Contact page to stay informed. (And thanks heaps for doing so! :))

The track, Beacon, was made a few years back, but the first part was a bit too happy, cheesy, cringey? Something wasn't right. I also was undecided on the order of releases, strategy, and so on. But I'm over it sitting around on my laptop, nearly finished, while pondering a strategy that doesn't involve DJing and having a sexy Instagram or brand (I know it's not everyone and no, I won't be doing any of that). And that's all fine, I suppose, but each to their own.

I'm also done with sending out demos as those inboxes seem to either be unattended or their A&R is just looking for something that sounds similar to something else. But most, if not all, appear to be unattended, unless there's an announcement and even then, the result tends to be a release of someone who's already been on the label before, so I avoid the we-are-really-open-for-demos-right-now moments too.

And the final most obvious thing I'm not prepared to do is "network". It seems so ingenuine, like preying on someone until there's the right moment to pounce with your not-so-subtle 'did I mention that I also make music?' unofficial pitch. So, as a semi-serious, otrovert (if this is really a thing now LINK2 LINK3 LINK4) who just wants to make some music for fun that maybe someone finds and enjoys, I changed the intro, wrapped it up, got it mastered and Beacon is now scheduled for release next week... :|

In other news, I've republished a couple of my vlogs on YouTube. I plan on rebooting the vlog soon, keeping it short, hopefully relatable and always with a music update of some sort, even if it's just to remind you of the latest update to my Listening Bar playlist. Oh, you don't know what that is? Here's an archive of all months for a proper introduction. :)

And that's the latest from me for now. Also, if you have something coming out or released in the current year that might fit into my playlist, please let me know. I will listen. And if I ever can't, there'll be an auto-reply noting so.
